Ulm Christmas Market 22th November to 22nd December 2010
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the Christmas Market takes centre stage in Ulm and attracts visitors from all over southern Germany as well as from Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
In the atmospheric setting of the Minster Square, directly in front of the highest church spire in the world, the festively decorated wooden stalls of the market are transformed into a "town within the town".
Culinary specialities, toys, arts and crafts, and Christmas tree decorations, together with children’s carrousels and a nativity scene with live animals, make Ulm Christmas Market one of the most important events in the city’s annual calendar.
Meet friends, warm up with a cup of mulled wine, choose some new Christmas tree decorations or simply enjoy the atmosphere – there are plenty of opportunities for a visit – whatever your age.
Christmas music and singing can be heard every day during market hours in front of the main entrance to Ulm Minster. Direct proximity to the main pedestrian shopping zone makes it very convenient to combine a visit to the market with your shopping expedition.
