The following, in particular, are available free of charge:
·The design of Ulm/Neu-Ulm travel offers and other advertising publications of travel companies (travel agents/-offices, Hotels, tourist transport operators, conference and congress organisations, Incoming offices, ...).
·The design of tourist/travel articles on Ulm/Neu Ulm for publication in newspapers, magazines and brochures (not for commercial travel guides).
·Advertising support for conferences, congresses, trade fairs and exhibitions in Ulm/Neu-Ulm. This also includes advertising visits to cultural establishments and their events (e.g. exhibitions, theatre performances, concerts and sporting events) as well as traditional seasonal activities in Ulm/Neu-Ulm (such as Oath Week, Fishermen’s Jousting Contest, Christmas Market, Danube Festival)
The following are excluded from “free of charge” use:
·Those types of use in which the image is used primarily as the basis for commercial gain. This is particularly so in the case of postcards, calendars, illustrated books, posters/billboards travel guides and similar objects.
·Design support for goods and services offered by companies outside the tourist industry, so far as these images are intended for commercial use to enhance turnover and public image (e.g. in sales promotion material for clothes or in sales brochures for real estate, etc.).
·The private use of images: in this case please contact the Stadtarchiv Ulm (Ulm City Archives).
Picture credits and specimen copies
In accordance with § 13 UrhG (copyright law) and related protection rights, picture credits and copyrights must be published with the image used. They must also be mentioned the publisher’s credits (e.g. as “UNT/name of photographer”). Two complete specimen copies of each publication must be sent to UNT at the user’s expense, or UNT must be informed of actual internet pages on which images appear. The images will be/were made available to other users for use.
Prohibition of replication, forwarding and manipulation/falsification
The replication and forwarding of image material in any form to third parties is prohibited. Excepted from this is the replication and forwarding to companies commissioned by the user to produce images, publications and/or replications for the above mentioned tourism purposes. The images may neither be sold on nor offered for sale in part or as a whole as a collection (e.g. as a CD-Rom or elsewhere on the Internet).
Any manipulation/falsification of images protected by copyright is prohibited. Exceptions require the consent of UNT and, in individual cases, of the author.
Limitation of use
The rights of use for images made available apply for one single use in the agreed context.
UNT reserves the right to revoke the rights of use for important reasons. In this case, the user agrees not to publish or replicate any further images. Finished products, so far as they were produced in accordance with these terms and conditions, may continue to be circulated.
Sanctions for violation of these terms and conditions
Failure to observe these conditions may result in the demand by UNT that the user re-call all products depicting the images at the user’s own expense and that the user either corrects the images or completely discontinues the circulation of these.
UNT or the author of the images is entitled to charge the usual market fee for any use of the images not previously agreed to or intended for the personal gain of the user. In both cases UNT and the authors of the images reserve the right to claim damages.
Concluding remarks
The electronic files made available have been produced according to our best knowledge and in good faith. Nevertheless, neither UNT nor the producer accepts any liability for any faults in the documents or for any resulting system failure.
