Fountains – living water
Fountains are also the town’s landmarks. Some of them originate from the medieval period and others are of a more recent date, but they all have one thing in common and that is the part they play in the traditions of Ulm. They were important meeting points and centres of communication and events and, of course, they were status symbols for the free imperial city. Go and have a look around.
