International Danube Festival
The International Danube Festival is held every two years by the Donaubüro Ulm/Neu-Ulm. During the ten days there will be a lively hustle and bustle on both sides of the river. International artists and tourists will all come together at this intercultural festival held along the Danube River. An international cultural programme offers a sophisticated mixture of all the different arts: music, dance, literature, exhibitions etc. The diversity of the Danube Region is very well represented by its various cultural ambassadors.
The heart of the festival is the “Marktplatz der Kulturen”. This intercultural market illustrates the idea that is at the heart of the Danube Festival: showing the diversity of cultures, music and dance as well as the different ways of life along the Danube River. Visitors can see authentic arts and crafts, traditional music and culinary specialties from different countries and regions. It is an exciting programme for the entire family, young and old.
The festival, however, is not only held at the numerous stages or the market square, there are also many exchange projects, e.g. the international youth camp. These projects help promote friendship and provide a platform for exchange.
The International Danube Festival is a showcase for the international Danube partnership and cultural exchange. It is based on the idea of “unity in diversity”, promoting cultural exchange in Europe and strengthening the solidarity in the Danube Region.
