Half-Day Trip: Heavenly baroque
No need to look far afield: There is also grand architecture in the immediate surroundings of Ulm/Neu-Ulm in the little town of Oberdischingen! The program starts with a visit to the baroque library and the church of the former Benedictine monastery of Wiblingen. This is followed by the parish church of Oberdischingen: the “Swabian Pantheon”. With the bridal procession of Marie Antoinette to Paris going through this town in 1770, an entire street was designed in French baroque mansard style. The culmination of the programme is a visit to a baroque monastery in Obermarchtal.
