A photo exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of the nuclear disaster of 26 April 1986
On 26 April 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster shook the world. A radioactive cloud ejected from reactor 4 into the atmosphere spread across Europe. With a special focus on nature, which is now quietly reclaiming the place abandoned by humans, artists repeatedly roam the area around Chernobyl.
The exhibition also features rare interior views of reactor 4. And it raises the controversial question of future final storage sites. Experts are currently investigating whether the region around Ulm could be selected for such a site. A decision is expected in 2050.
