Kaufhaus Münstertor

After crossing the Münsterplatz square the first building of the Neue Mitte (the ›New City Centre‹) is the Münstertor. The Portal of the Minster was designed by the renowned German architect Stephan Braunfels.

The building has a very special wedge-shaped design. Its structure is plain and minimalistic. The facade is made of velvety, grey exposed concrete. Combined with glass elements, this is modern architecture in its purest form.

The building accommodates several shops: an optician, a jeweller, an electronic brand store and a restaurant at the upper floor.
