The botanic gardens of the University of Ulm were founded in 1981 and, covering an area of 28 hectares, are among the largest in Germany.
The greenhouses are close of the clinic on the ›Oberer Eselsberg‹. Here visitors can see numerous, interesting tropical plants. Walking towards the ›Lehrer Tal‹, you can visit the new herbal garden and the lily show garden.
Walking further, you can wander through shady forests and colourful meadows, until you finally reach the most southern part of the garden, with the rose garden, the farm garden, a wild orchard and rotation crop farmland. The site is bordered by a collection of trees and shrubs. Whether on your own or with a guided tour, there is plenty for both young and old to see.
