Ulmer Mühlen Weg
In the pre-industrial age, mills were the first facilities in which natural forces were used to perform heavy, repetitive work with machines. Mills can thus be seen as the forerunners of today's factories. There were also a number of mills in the city of Ulm. Very few are still preserved, and it is known that a few others became the nucleus of well-known Ulm companies. These and the other mills, which have meanwhile been largely forgotten, are to be brought back into the urban consciousness in this way.
The Ulmer Mühlen Weg leads to the locations of 22 mills in the city area and shows the development from the mill operation of the 19th century to the regional industrial culture of modern times in 5 thematic blocks.
